Covid 19 Alert

In November 2019, a deadly virus, the SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) COVID-19
was detected in the Asian continent. Its spread was so rapid that a couple of months later, some other cases had been detected in other continents. In March 2020, the WHO (World Health Organization) declared the virus a global pandemic.

Across the world, pharmaceutical experts worked tirelessly at finding remedies for the virus to no avail. After a long period of manufacturing and testing, some experts came up with vaccines.
The first batch of vaccines were received in Ghana in February 2021. Ghanaians were urged and advised to get vaccinated as the vaccine was proven months later by the Ghana Health Service either to have reduced the spread or caused minimal symptoms in an infected person.

Several months later, the results were found to be remarkable and gradually, all preventive measures have been loosened and Ghanaians have gone back to their normal lives.
Notwithstanding the above, COVID-19 still lingers around. Though we have achieved a great deal in reduction of the rate of spread, we need not rest on our laurels. We urge all Ghanaians to keep adhering to the primary preventive protocols;
1. Regular handwashing with soap and water under running water
2. Sanitizing hands ands surfaces with alcohol bases sanitizers
3. Coughing and sneezing into disposable handkerchiefs
4. Wearing masks in public areas, etc.
