Natural Flames Club-NFC,  is an arts and drama club aimed at pooling individuals with unique talents in aspects of Music, Acting, Poetry, Script writing and many other talents into one big family in order to nurture and develop their talents. The club is founded to awaken the entrepreneurial spirit of individuals by rekindling their natural abilities. Natural Flames Club strives to strike balance between passion and work by providing platforms and opportunities to her members to develop and present better solutions to problems and contribute meaningfully to societies and business development.

Speaking on the topic, “How a developed talent can be an influencing factor of success in the Corporate world”, Mr. Ashie Bennet emphasized the need for all present to understand that everybody created by God has in one way or the other been given some form of a talent, gift or unique ability. He used the biblical story of the parable of the talents to illustrate that the only difference is in the quantities or appearances of these talents, adding that the notion that a talent is only good or useful when it is flashy or has a distinct outward appearance was very misleading.

Mr. Ashie touched on the need for people to do well to put to use their natural talents and abilities in whatever roles they found themselves in the working environment since that was a sure way to generate real passion and enthusiasm on the job. He added that anyone who found him or herself doing what he or she naturally loves to do in the corporate world was a delight to watch and work with. “The working space is full of challenges and difficulties I must be frank with you all but what is sure to keep you going and ready to overcome all hurdles is when your talents are at play since it helps you develop a thick skin” he said.

In bringing his address to an end Mr. Ashie admonished all the students to remember that everything has a time frame within which it can be used to its maximum potential and so it was necessary that as young men and women they all sought to know their unique strengths and talents and make the best use of them whilst they still had the gifts of time and strength. He concluded that talents, gifts, unique abilities are all very good and useful in the working world but it is very important to also develop the right attitude to propel these talents and abilities; adding that developed talents will take you far but developed talents nurtured in the space of good attitudes will take you much further and for a much sustained period.

In an interview with the founder of the Natural Flames Club, Master Obed Moody, he was very elated that his dream of launching this club had come to past. He said he also believes strongly that every individual in his or her element can attain seemingly impossible heights, leave good trails on the paths of history, and be in resonance with their inner being. He said, “Here at NFC, we seek to promote individual creativity by promoting the products of our members to the world. Passion is the essence of all life’s endeavor and that is our greatest tool for achievement and perfection in Natural Flames Club. When you reach for a loved one’s hands you often touch their hearts and lives in general. Poverty has imprisoned a lot of lives and talents. To arrest the situation, Natural Flames Club has a foundation called Natural Flames Foundation to assist members and society through the provision of educational assistance, food, clothing and relief items to less privileged individuals and deprived communities in Ghana and beyond”.

The vision of the club is “To be the world’s number one club that assists individuals to identify, explore, and develop their talent to suit perspective of modern business and embrace their calling”. Many of the students and members of the general public who attended the programme paid glowing tributes to the guest speakers at the programme saying that they had been empowered mentally during the launch and gained some real value from the programme.

When we were very small, and when we didn’t have much name, you believed in us. So we say Ayekoo to all of you,” he added.

Mr Otuteye said: “Going forward we want to also assure you that banking is a relationship. Some think that bankers are just there to make money out of customers. But to us, is the other way round. We want to grow with you, we want to build you. One of the things we do not want to do is that we don’t want to hear that through ABii National, somebody’s business had collapsed. God forbid that it should be said that through ABii National someone’s business had collapsed. But we want to have testimonies that say that through ABii National, my company was GHc50, 000; today it is one million Ghana cedis.”

Doctor Doris Yaa Dartey played her role as the chairperson for the occasion, with Professor Robert Darko Osei and Doctor Esther O. Ofei-Aboagye also gracing the occasion as the main speaker and keynote speaker respectively.

It was realised that indeed in the last three decades the economy had been growing and we have seen a change is the economic structure although this had not translated in transformative growth. After doing justice to our economic state at 60 years, he came to the 2017 budget and touched on selected highlights and policies. He concluded that Ghana’s economy is not where it could have been, our fiscal space has shrunk over the years, and become structural– ‘the sins of our fathers’, there are good signals in the budget 2017 but effective implementation of the plans remain critical to realising the budget objectives.

The key-note speaker – Dr. Esther O. Ofei-Aboagye, then went on to bring our some key areas of the 2017 budget and went on to discuss certain key objectives of the budget. In conclusion, she said that although the budget provides commendable prospects it cannot be described as a formula for success yet. As a statement of intent and a demonstration of commitment by the government, conditions and institutions must be well equipped; among other major reforms, to deliver.

Much appreciation was extended to all present including staff of ABii National for supporting the dream and vision of the institution and the Acting Managing Director of the company, Mr. Noah Otuteye, expressed satisfaction with the partnership to sponsor the lecture. ABii National Savings and Loans Company Limited, in conjunction with other members of the Tobinco Group of Companies last Friday donated a wide range of pharmaceutical products and other related medical supplies to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Children’s Ward. This forms part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs of the company for this year as it seeks to give back to society.

The donation was aimed primarily at alleviating the stress of many users of the health facility who find it difficult to sometimes pay for their prescribed medication; due to financial constraints. This often leads to worsening of their health and medical conditions. This situation in the long run adversely affects the output and productivity of the Ghanaian workforce hence retarding economic development.

With the support of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited (its mother company), Entrance Pharmaceuticals and Research Centre, Atinka FM, Priority Insurance and the Tobinco Foundation, various drugs including Analgesics, Haematinics, Anti-Biotics, Dewormers, Ointments and Multivitamins were donated to the Ward.

In making the presentation, Mr. Bennet Ashie, Head – Corporate Affairs and Service Excellence of ABii National said that the theme for the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda for this year is “Health for All and True Care for the Needy”. He added that the company was founded on strong Christian values and they saw “Giving” as a responsibility and a privilege. He also admonished all Ghanaians to give freely out of good will and support others who are in need since there is more blessing in giving than in receiving.

A representative of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Ltd, also mentioned that the gesture formed part of the Tobinco Group’s effort at helping the numerous Ghanaian population who struggle daily to obtain their medical needs and was hopeful that the donation will go a very long way to restore hope among many and bring back smiles on the faces of many more.

Receiving the items amidst smiles, Dr. Adziri Sackey, Consultant/Pediatrician for the children’s block, expressed his profound gratitude to ABii National and the Tobinco Group of Companies and urged other Corporate Bodies to do same since there are many health facility users across the country and especially in the most secluded areas who struggle to pay for their medical bills. He promised that the drugs will go to the class of people for which they were intended and go an extra mile to restore hope for many needy patients.

ABii NATIONAL PARTNERS ‘H4P’- HERE FOR PERFECTION IN GHANA FOR PEACE SUMMIT 2016

In the build up to elections 2016 and the advocacy for peace by all stakeholders, ABii National has partnered ‘H4P’ Here for Perfection; in the organization of a peace summit at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra. Two other subsidiaries of the Tobinco Group of Companies: Priority Insurance and Entrance Industries and Research Centre supported the programme with the mother company – Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited, headlining as a title sponsor.

H4P is a non-governmental organization that has over the years sought to promote the rights of the vulnerable in society. It has been the passion of H4P to promote the rights of the vulnerable in society and hence putting together of such a programme. The summit was held against the backdrop of post-election unrest and wars which have characterized a lot of countries on the continent and how such inflammations have mostly affected the physically challenged in society.

The event was characterized by interludes where peace messages from many exemplary stakeholders were shown on large screens.

In attendance were a very broad section of the general public, societal groups with various societal groups including the Association of Albinos. There was cultural display from New Horizon Special school and this sought to purport that at least there is some form of organization in what they did and that people living with autism should not be sidelined by society.

Dr. Charles Obeng Asamoah, Executive Director of the Ghana Blind Union in his speech said that peace is not just the absence of war but also a quest to create protection for all; where country men are able to accommodate each other and pursue the common goal of National development. He further urged all Ghanaians not to compromise societal values because an individual would want to become president thereby ruining the peace and stability our country is envied for.

All political parties and stakeholders present were given a platform to pledge peace for the upcoming elections in December. The Electoral Commission also promised that the principle of universal adult suffrage will be ensured irrespective of various forms of disability. They hinted that measures put in place include the ‘face only’ verification for limbless voters, Secrecy of ballot for the blind, etc. The PNC representative present further urged journalists to be circumspect in their reportage because in some countries some wars have been sparked by reporters who in their bid to make their stories catchy twist facts and end up agitating passionate voters who react violently.

Two peace songs composed by the ‘H4P’ crew were launched by Mrs. Diana Hopson (known in showbiz circle as Diana Akiwumi). She said the idea of the peace songs is to get ourselves familiar with peace as we sing and live peace.

The Tobinco Group of Companies’ commitment to national peace came to light through their sponsorship of the summit and an interview with the Head of Corporate Affairs of ABii National, Mr. Ashie Bennet, he revealed the group’s collective interest in maintaining peace and stability in the country.
